Stupidity as the mystical foundation of our existence

We have blind faith in our knowledge, not because knowledge is wise or true by nature; it is considered wise and true simply because it is shared by the majority. We do not follow a rule because it is functional; a rule becomes functional once everybody follows it.
.
we do not stop at traffic lights because the red colour causes us to stop. The red light has a regulating effect because we stop for it. In short, a rule owes its force not to arguments, but to the herd instinct. Not reason, but custom and habit govern our life.
.
Every new start is hilarious. Smilingly, we obey an initially idiotic rule, until it actually becomes functional, until there is good argument for it. In ashort, the effect precedes the cause: what we have here is a case of epimethean causality. Efficiency is not a natural aspect of rules and regulations, but the result of our compliances.
