Ok so I got the Torch recently and here are some reviews about it. I read some reviews online too and trying it out for myself i found the pros and cons to the awesomely looking phone. *coughs*
For the design of the phone and its touchscreen, i'll give a 5 star cause i'm biased and i really love it. haha. now into the hardware. Like i expected, the functions do lag a bit but not as much as my old phone does. In general, it moves pretty fast and does not take long to set up a program. Games on the other hand, take a longer time to load and to close. I am still learning the functions to the phone but i like the layout of the icons and the phone is pretty user friendly to a "noob" like me. haha.
The biggest, largest, most annoying downside to this phone is the battery life which does not last long at all. After three hours of internet browsing your battery life can sink by around 75%. and i'm not joking. My friends who are using the Sony Ericson and Blackberry Curve also comment that their battery life doesn't last long so i'm thinking it's a common problem. However, i dont think that the problem is as severe as this phone. Therefore, when you're not using the internet, it is adviced to switch off your 3G and your bluetooth and to set your backlight to a minimum.
Overall, i still love this phone and i dont mind carrying around my charger in my handbag :P haha. However, Blackberry should really make a move on this problem and come up with a new battery to replace this one. In that case the customers would be satisfied and they might even receive more customers in the future..
Digi Smart Plan
So i bought this phone under contract with digi and i was the first 300 customer to the outlet in SS2, lining up outside the shop in the morning which a whole bunch of other jakuns and finally getting my phone 3 hours later was indeed all Worthit :) heehee. It was fun though lining up with daddy and watching some really kiasu ppl work. Like i was seated right next to this guy who was butt kissing the worker at the shop and talking about all different kinds of phones, then persuading him to help him to go first cause his boss was complaining and what not. Gees man... some ppl are just inconsiderate.. Well you got work.. TOO BAD.. Life is unfair..
Anyways, back to the plan. It is a really good deal for heavy internet users and facebook addicts like me. haha. A monthly payment of RM78 is more than enough for me to browse my favourite sites, facebook, and sent emails in my busy hectic life. The internet is fast wherever i go and the signal is good. Downloads are also fast :) Compared to other service providers, i found Digi to be the most value for money :)
